PJ Forum Guidelines

Due to the nature of some posts made to the message board, it has proven to be necessary to screen all guest messages before putting them on the web. This at times results in messages not being posted.

Unfortunately, some of these messages are mainly well thought out and articulate, but then end in foul language, threats, personal attacks and/or accusations.

Note: PJ Forum members posts are put up instantly.

Messages will not be edited in any way.

These guidelines will help to insure your message gets on: (Memberships may be canceled if the guidelines aren't followed)
  1. Watch the language: Remember, kids surf the net. So regardless of how reasonable your post may be, if it contains obscene, indecent, offensive or profane language of any kind, it may be deleted. Even profanity thinly disguised with spaces or other symbols may be deleted. Posts in languages other than English may also be removed if it's not known whether it contains objectionable words.
  2. Sexual content : Sexually suggestive content should not be posted. Not even innuendo, dirty jokes or stories.
  3. No SPAM: Junk mail, pyramid schemes, chain letters or advertisements of any kind are not allowed.
  4. Defamation, hate, and other nastiness: The forums are not the place for personal attacks. Abusive, defamatory, harassing or hateful posts are not allowed. Obviously, this includes hate and slurs based on race, sexual orientation, religion, and gender. Here are some examples:

    Allowed: Pitcher Suzy S. needs to work on her control.
    Not allowed: Suzy S. is too fat to pitch.

    Allowed: You obviously don’t understand my point. I’ll not respond to your posts any more.
    Not allowed: You’re too stupid to draw breath. You better watch your back.

    Allowed: Our mayor is opening the door to developers and killing our town.
    Not allowed (unless the mayor has been convicted): Mayor Jones is lining his pockets with developer Joe Smith’s cash.

    Allowed: Coach Jones is building an all star team, not a friendly town club. Beware.
    Not allowed: Coach Jones is a bully and a pedophile.

  5. Privacy: Do not post anyone’s e-mail address, street address or telephone number or any other personal information about another person.
  6. Illegal activity: Do not post information that encourages criminal activity of any kind or that may give rise to civil liability – even if you’re just kidding.
